Modesty Pt. 2

GirlMirror

Hi everyone! I (Honor) am here today to share with you my families’ thoughts and convictions on modesty! Our perspective is a little different from some people’s, so if you disagree or have any thoughts or additions, I’d love to hear from you 🙂 . Let’s get right to it, shall we?

My family has always believed that modesty is most importantly, a matter of the heart. We believe that while what you wear is important, how you wear it matters just as much. When we dress modestly, we should be focusing on our skirt length and our attitude.

I believe there are several questions a girl should ask herself before wearing anything.

The first is, what is my goal in wearing this particular outfit? Your goal may just be to look nice, and that’s fine! But if your goal is to attract attention, you need to reevaluate.

The second question I believe we should ask is, will this outfit cause a brother of mine to stumble? This is where your skirt length comes into play 🙂 . If you can’t honestly answer “no”, it’s time to go back to the closet. If you’re not sure, ask your mom, dad, or a sibling. They’ll probably be able to help you.

The third question is, how comfortable am I in this outfit? This may seem like an odd question to ask when we’re talking about modesty, but I actually believe it’s quite helpful. When my jeans are a little too tight, or my skirt a little too short, I often feel really uncomfortable – especially as I try to pull down my skirt every five minutes 🙂 . If you don’t feel confident and comfortable in your outfit, that’s probably a sign that it’s time to change.

Well, there you have it!

What do you think of these particular questions?

Do you disagree with any?

Do you have any other questions that you use when you’re deciding what to wear?

I absolutely loved reading this! My Mom definitely includes a lot about teaching us that our attitude has a lot to do with dressing modesty as well.😊
