Hey all!
We are so excited to be finally sharing these photos! Yipee! We hinted at this post in my (Hadassah’s) 2019 post, and we’re finally going to do it today. So, let’s start at the beginning.
We were sooo sooo excited when we found out Claire was coming up from Alabama and attending the annual Christmas/New Year’s ball with us! We only see her once (or twice) a year since she moved from Ohio to the coast, and we were giddy when her whole family came up and attended the dance! *Sigh* That evening was full of fun memories! But, you’re probably wondering, “A ball? Isn’t that a little old fashioned?” Yep. It is. But we love it. All of us girls got to dress up in formals and get our hair/makeup (makeup for some of us at least) done. It was the best evening + night, and some of us danced nearly every dance! The dances were truly old fashioned, but no, we didn’t have to wear white gloves and be introduced to our partners. π
Honor, Julianne, and Caroline had all come to the Yuletide Ball before since they had attended church there, but for Claire and me, it was our first time.

We all got ready at Caroline and Julianne’s house, and then drove down in several cars. It was a bit of a drive, but so worth it!

So for the most part, all of our dresses came from Dillard’s Outlet, except mine which I borrowed from my mom, haha! It is veryyy hard to find modest formal dresses, but Dillard’s Outlet is the place to go to find them.

Everyone looked so gorgeous. Julianne did almost everyone’s hair… in fact, I think she DID do everyone’s hair! She was so patient and kind, and even when my hair pins fell out (yeah… they did. I have so much hair that she wasn’t used to doing, so I left it in an ‘elegant’ braid after that, π ) she just helped me fix it!

We had such a nice night, and most all of us got to dance with several guys we knew, including a few guys we didn’t know. Thankfully, I don’t believe there were many Mr. Darcys who didn’t dance. Most of the guys invited wanted to dance and took pleasure in asking different girls. So we did enjoy talking to our dance partners and making some new friends.

We got a lot of photos with us together! We also got quite a few with Caroline and Julianne’s little sister, A., Honor’s younger sisters, P. & M., and Claire’s little sister, J.

So much fun. It was such a great evening, and we were all in the Christmas spirit + looking forward to the New Year! I think for most of us, we couldn’t stop smiling, especially since Claire was there with us. We all can’t wait for next year!
Have you ever been to a ball?
Hadassah S.
P.S. We were so surprised to meet a blog reader at the ball! Thanks so much for reading our blog, F.! It was nice meeting you. We now feel famous. π
This was a cute post! You all looked very gorgeous with your dresses and hair done!! π

Oh my goodness this sounds like so so so much fun! Maybe I’ll be able to come one day. I went to a formal last spring and got a beautiful dress from Ross in their formal section. Sadly no one did any dancing all though it does sound like a lot of fun! All of you girls are absolutely beautiful and look so much older in these pictures! Can’t wait to hear more about it!

Sounds like so much fun! I have never attended a ball, but my family enjoys old fashioned square dances with Celtic fiddle and piano music. My sister and I don’t dress up “formal” but do wear twirl-worthy skirts or dresses. π

Some of us attended this one family’s parties a while back that did some dancing in the summers. I also attended a square dance at a local church a few summers ago. π

Where did you go to attend this magical evening of fun? Is is open to everyone or by invitation only? It looks like so much fun and I love to dance! Do you know of any other upcoming balls? Thanks!!!
You look lovely btw!

It was by invitation only (sadly!), but it was at an old church in Kentucky, right across the Ohio River. I don’t know of any upcoming balls around here, but I wish you could’ve been invited! Thanks so much Grace! β€
