The Fun Things About Us!

Julianne K.

-Today we thought it’d be fun if we gave you all some background on {some of} us! We know you all have heard the gist about us- teen girls who write a blog together, but today we’re giving you the fun quarks and personality traits! We wish that we could all fit into one blog post. Today we’re covering 6 out of 10 of us. ๐Ÿ˜€ –

Hello my friends! Julianne here. I am 17 year old christian young lady. As the second oldest child out of six, I have three brothers and two sisters (One of which you all know – Caroline!). And even though they can be annoying like every sibling, they are the best! I live on a farm in South-West Ohio.

Fun story: Recently I was at a speech and debate tournament. I had just finished a late night round against a friend (around 10 at night), and we were all a little slap-happy. She turned to me while we cleaned up the room and said “You live on a farm, don’t you? You just seem to have that personality.” I had never mentioned this to her before, so her comment caught me quite by surprise. However, I decided to take it as a compliment. So yes, we organically raise chickens, cats & kittens, a Pyrenees/Border Collie dog, a black rabbit, and a Muscovy duck. (Depending on the time of year, we may also have meat chickens, which we butcher ourselves, and pigs, which we don’t).

As I am a senior in high school this year, I do not have a lot of free time. However, I still have many hobbies. I LOVE literature and history! As mentioned earlier, I participate in a speech and debate league called NCFCA. In fact, Honor P. was my partner for 3 out of the 5 years! I also am an avid music lover! I listen and play music all the time! I’ve been playing the piano for about 12 years, and I am currently attempting to learn the guitar. I also love to sketch! Fun Fact: One of my favorite summer activities is to sketch while listening to an audio-book (two hobbies in one sitting). ๐Ÿ˜‰

Random Info:
Favorite Musicians: Andrew Peterson, Ellie Holcomb, Piano Guys, Jon Schmidt.
Favorite Authors: J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, L.M. Montgomery, Lois Walfrid Johnson, Andrew Peterson.
Word for 2019: Intentional
Favorite Bible Passage: “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” – Philippians 1:6

Thank you all for following our blog! It means so much to us all! What are your favorite hobbies? Blessings!

-Julianne K.

So, by now y’all know I’m Caroline. Today I’m just gonna spill my hobbies, sibling facts, and other exciting stuff. =)

Some things I’m particularly interested in, are horses and ballet. Those are probably my biggest interests right now! Julianne and I both did ballet when we were really little; however, we stopped to learn piano instead. (I’ve played the piano for 7yrs now.) I’ve always loved ballet; however, there was no good opportunity until this summer. Yes, this summer brought about my dream. We joined the YMCA this summer and I was able to get into a ballet class. I’ve been dancing ever since. I’ve participated in a Christmas dance recital, which was awesome, and I will be participating in a spring recital this May. You may be wondering why I stopped ballet if I really love it, well- that’s a great question that I’ve wondered myself! My answer would be that I simply didn’t care as much about ballet back when I was 5 yrs old. When I heard the chance to try something new, I took the chance. I really do love playing the piano and I’m glad I learned; however, sometimes I can’t help but imagining where I could be now If I’d kept with ballet. *sigh* The Lord knows what’s good for me and He has decreed my life, so I will be content and trust in the Lord! I have hopes and big dreams for ballet; however, since I got a late start, I don’t know If they will ever be accomplished. Only the Lord knows.

…Moving on, I play two instruments: the piano and the ukulele. I love playing both of these, and I play the piano for my church occasionally. I enjoy taking pictures. ๐Ÿ™‚ I love horses tremendously. I’m hopefully getting horse lessons this spring. *super excited* My two most favorite music artists are Ellie Holcomb and Kari Jobe. Two of my favorite series are the Viking Quest Series by Lois Walfrid Johnson and The Christy Miller Series by Robin Jones Gunn. I have 5 siblings. The eldest is 20 and the youngest is 7. I am the 3rd eldest. Two of my favorite bible verses are Jeremiah 29:11:

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope,” and Psalm 139:13-14:

“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.

My word for this year that I want to focus on is Courage. I want to have courage and be a strong brave girl for Christ. Well, that sums up my little post about me! I hope you enjoyed it and feel like you know me a little bit better!

God Bless, Caroline K.

Summer here!

The last time I did one of these I talked more about my life, family, and the things I enjoy- but didnโ€™t really talk about my personality. Iโ€™m an ambivert so Iโ€™m right in the middle of extrovert and introvert. Everyone says that Iโ€™m very friendly, although they can tell Iโ€™m kinda shy at first. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I certainly donโ€™t like being the center of attention, and being in front of crowds or big groups makes me feel very nervous and my face gets really red.

Storytime: At my piano recital I was so nervous, and someone told me they liked my blush (trying to compliment me) and I thought to myself โ€œOh no! I donโ€™t have any blush on at all and Iโ€™m that red!??โ€ :p

I enjoy talking to smaller groups of people Iโ€™m comfortable with. And Iโ€™m usually the one to break any type of awkward silence. School is something I take very seriously and high school has been very different for me. I enjoy social studies and English Literature most, and although I find science fascinating, I donโ€™t understand it. Fruit, Chick-fil-A, and ice cream are my favorite foods. Autumn used to be my favorite season but itโ€™s now spring and summer. Iโ€™m closest to my family- so my mom, sisters, and cousins are practically my besties. Dogs are the best and Iโ€™ve never met one I didnโ€™t like! My dog, Buddy, is definitely my best friend and I tell him the most, after confiding in God of course. I could spend hours upon hours in the bookstore just browsing and be completely happy. My two favorite quotes are โ€œFocus on the good and the good gets better,โ€ by Abraham Hicks, and โ€œBe a proton always positive,โ€ (Iโ€™m not for sure who that one is by!). Flowers make me so happy! Sunflowers, Peonies, and Carnations are my favorites. Making other people happy and smile is one of my favorite things to do. Mysteries, romances, adventure, and diaries are my favorite types of books to read. Well, thatโ€™s all I can think of! I would love to hear something about you in the comments!ย

    • Hadassah S. says:

Aw Magaidh! Thank you! I have grown it out for my entire life haha! Recently I switched to using natural stuff, instead of shampoo and conditioner… and it got longer. No kidding xD I actually (right now, at least) use a normal bar of soap for shampoo & apple cider vinegar (every other time I wash my hair) for conditioner. Also, trimming the ends every summer helps it stay healthy! Thanks for the comment! โค

      • Magaidh Bryan says:

Thanks for the advice!! My hair grows MONUMENTALLY SLOW. It is seriously so ridiculous. But my life-long goal has been to get it waist length.

I’ve actually washed my hair that way before too! But it was because I ran out of shampoo, lol! And I always found the apple cider vinegar to make my hair rather greasy…but maybe I’ll give it another try. And I know I need to trim it more often.๐Ÿ˜Š
