The Story of Us

In honor of our second birthday coming up this week, I wanted to share the story of how we started. I know some of you have probably heard this before, but to all you newbies, here it is!

It started as an idea. I (Hadassah) honestly don’t even know where the idea came from. It was July of 2017 and I wanted to do something over the summer. I had recently become more interested in modest fashion, and had a photography blog (which I still post on once in a while 😉 ) , but I wanted to start a modest fashion one. The idea came out of no where, haha! I still remember writing the email with that idea -which would become Joyfully You later- which I sent to eight close friends- six of whom are on here now!

I quickly learned that everyone didn’t want to focus JUST on modest fashion, so we came up with what we wanted to share:

*DIYS *Hair *Beauty *Crafts *Lifestyle posts *Christianity… the list went on from there!

I remember Charlotte, our techie, and I had a video meeting and got Joyfully You all set up a few days later. We went over a lot of possibilities for the blog name! I think a few of them were “Just Be You” Or “Be-Youtiful” (naturally, already taken)… until we stumbled upon Joyfully You. After a lot of pondering and some thesaurus-thinking, we also got our tagline: COMMUNITY, MODESTY, JOY.

In our first post, “WHO WE ARE & WHAT WE DO,” I talked about what our goals were and who the team was at the time. We were so small and unsure of everything! It’s such a blessing to have other girls on the team now as well: Savannah, Senait, Karina, and Summer. They’re such a fun bunch and I love them all so much!! And the girls that have been here since the beginning: THANK YOU FOR STICKING TO THIS JOURNEY! 👏

We’ve celebrated birthdays together and done fun photoshoots together… it’s been awesome. And I can’t wait to see where we go from here!

You may have not seen some faces around here in a while… we’re all growing up and our paths are going in different directions. This blog has brought us together so much, and I could never thank Jesus enough for that!

We’re not professionals. We never have been and we probably will never be! We’re just a bunch of girls with hearts for Jesus and sharing His love with the world. Our blog is just a simple hobby blog. We say this all the time, but we’re so blessed to know that Jesus is working through us to you all.

We never ever thought we’d get 200+ followers! And it still grows. Thank you all so much for being apart of this team. Something fun comes on Wednesday, so check the blog for that! It’s our second birthday, so it’s time to CELEBRATE!!

In Jesus,

Hadassah

Yay, congrats on two years, ladies!! It was fun to read about your story of how you all got started!

Your blog and you girls inspire and encourage me! It’s so wonderful to see other young people glorifying Jesus and encouraging others in their walk with Christ. I feel like so many people talk so much about how terrible youth today are turning out… but praise God, not all of us have turned out that way! I thank God for each of you, and pray that you all continue in living out 1 Timothy 4:12, “Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”

God bless you all abundantly in this next season of your lives and of this blog! 🙂 ❤

Wow, that’s so amazing!! God used your idea to turn into something wonderful for His glory and honor. I’m so thankful that I’ve come across you gals blog! It’s been a great encouragement and awesome to see young ladies, such as yourselves wanting to point others to Jesus. I can’t wait to see what more is to come. Well done, my friends! 🎉❤
