Isn’t fall amazing? As soon as September hit, I (Hadassah) grabbed my brown boots and cardigans thinking, “Yippeee! Fall’s coming!” It’s one of my absolute favorite seasons (as you can probably tell) and just everything about it makes me happyyy! Pumpkins, tea, sweater weather, leaves… and of course my birthday. 😉
Autumn has finally arrived, and yesterday (fall equinox) was just a glorious day for Ohio. I’m hoping we’ll have more weeks of that this autumn, as last year just turned bitter cold mid-October. This past Sunday I wore this outfit that I wanted to share with you all.
So yes! I did actually make my dress. In fact, it was the first thing I’ve ever made using a pattern and the first thing I’ve ever made for myself to wear. The pattern came from this website, from a few years ago when my Nana made one of these for me.
So, I wanted to grow my sewing skills this summer, and that’s the first thing that popped into my head. I wanted something I could wear and love. I loved the twirly vintage feeling from my old one (which I outgrew, btw), and I found some perfect fabric hidden away in my mom’s stash. So with some help from my Nana- and of course, permission from my mama haha, I sewed my first real dress. It takes more patience than I thought!
Honestly, I could live in shirtwaist dresses! It makes me want to live in the 1950’s. It is such a comfy dress and perfect for wearing to church.
Getting those boots in as early as possible! 😉
If you know me, you’ll know that I wear these headbands ALL. THE. TIME. They’re probably one of the best things I’ve ever purchased on Amazon, haha! Here is the link to those.
School’s started now and we’re all busy, but we’re hoping to do some fun things together this autumn! 🙂
What’s your favorite thing about fall?
