A Different Easter Season

Hey you guys!

I have been a little MIA on the social side of things… the weather has been absolutely gorgeous here in Ohio, and I have spent the past week outside in our garden and woods! But I (Hadassah) realized I always start out talking about the weather… haha, I’m like your grumpy old great-uncle or something. xD

So… honestly… it’s been crazy with all the quarantine and COVID scare, but I recently realized how close I have become to God through all of this.

As I was talking with some friends over a video call last week, we were talking about how we really hoped and prayed that this whole thing would be over before Easter morning. That everything would go back to normal, that people would heal. And yet in Ohio… we are still quarantined until May 1st, maybe later.

But you know what? It’s really incredible how God gave us this craziness in the world right over Lent and through Easter. If you’re not familiar with Lent, it is the season of reflection and repentance going right up to Easter, to prepare our hearts to really receive Jesus on Easter morning. (And there’s a lot more to Lent, but that’s just a basis.)

Easter has always been one of my absolute favorite holidays. Going to church on Easter morning and feeling the JOY of Jesus’ resurrection… it seems to last all year!

But this year it’s going to be different. We’re going to do our Easter service over Zoom (thank Jesus for technology!!) and spend lots of family time together.

Yes, it’ll be a different Easter Sunday, a different Easter season. But Jesus still died on the cross and rose again! And that joy is still there. ❤ Take time on Easter to really reflect on Jesus’ dying on the cross, the tomb, and the resurrection. Feel the joy! He died for you and rose again! And that’s what is absolutely amazing.

Happy Easter from the entire Joyfully You team, + stay healthy!

Hadassah ❤

  1. Heaven says:

I agree, Hadassah! With being on quarantine and all of the commercialized festivities being put on hold, it allows us to reflect on the true meaning of the season. Christ’s death and rising from the dead is so important!!! Without God sending Jesus to die on the cross for our sins, we would still be slaves to sin. We would not be freed to follow Christ. Praise, God that He did send His son! Those who are believers would not be where they are without Jesus’ death. ❤ It is going to be odd having Easter services online through Zoom, but I am thankful that we can still celebrate this wonderful time together…even if it is virtually. 😉
