Hello, my friends!
It’s Julianne here again!!! 😄 I hope you are all doing well during quarantine! When do you all get out of quarantine? In Ohio, our quarantine was extended through the end of May.
I’m so sorry I’ve been MIA for the past 9 months. My first year at college was amazing but very busy. Unfortunately, that meant I had no time to post here. However, I’ve thought of some good ideas to share with you this summer! 😊
Today I thought I would share some of my new favorite spring hairstyles! I’ve done a post on this every year since our blog started. You can find those here and here. I thought it would be fun to continue this tradition! This year, I’m also including some more summery hairstyles, because summer will be here before we know it!!
Although I’ve always loved braided hairstyles (possibly because it was one of the first things I learned to do with my hair 😊), I’ve tried to include some more variety in this year’s hairstyle haul!
Floral Twisted Half-up
I love this hairstyle so much! It’s beautiful and fairly easy to replicate! Flower hairstyles always seem to me so springy and fun!😊 I think this would be a great hairstyle for church, spring photoshoots, or any fancier outing! While this tutorial shows joining two twists together, I think you could also do an inverted ponytail (or a topsy tail) with two pieces of hair from the front of your head for a similar effect. That would make this hairstyle even easier!
This hairstyle is pretty similar to the last one except in ponytail form and a little more casual. This could be perfect for just hanging around at home or your usual outings. If you want to replicate it, this ponytail is the last hairstyle with instructions on the link above. If you don’t like bows, you could always use hair to wrap over the elastic band.
Fishtail Braid Ponytails
My sisters and I almost always grew up with the classic two braid ponytails in our hair. As I grew up, I loved how fishtail was a little more intricate but still had the classic look. This hairstyle would be the perfect casual and gorgeous look for those of you with longer hair!
Dutch Braid Hair Roll
I did this on Caroline, my sister, late one night when I was playing around with new styles. We loved how this hairstyle looked so much, and it was a bummer we had to take it out almost immediately for bedtime. 😉 This hairstyle looks complex, but it really is not that difficult. If you know how to do a dutch braid, you can do this hairstyle! It would be so pretty paired up with a sundress for church or an outing!
Sleek Wrapped Ponytail
You can’t go wrong with the classic high ponytail! I like how this ponytail looks with the hair straightened and the elastic wrapped! I unfortunately never can get my hair straight and silky like this; it is quite frizzy. 😉
I’ve noticed this hairstyle has become fairly popular lately! It is a newer take on the classic ponytail. I have not personally done this hairstyle yet, but it seems so fun! I think it is the type of hairstyle that would be easy to dress up or dress down.
Half-up Lace Braids
I really like this hairstyle! Lace braids always seem to create a beautiful and soft hairstyle! If you want to personalize this hairstyle some, instead of tucking the ends underneath, you could join them together and add a bow or hair scarf to the end!
This halo braid is so pretty! It would be the perfect hairstyle for a more dressy event! You can find instructions to do this hairstyle on almost any type of hair here. If you are not a huge fan of flowers in your hair (like my sisters 😉), this hairstyle also looks gorgeous without the flower crown.
Messy Top Knot
This is such an easy hairstyle, yet it looks so pretty! A messy bun was a fairly common hairstyle for me at school this past year, but this half-up idea is a neat addition! For those of you with curly or frizzy hair, this hairstyle is even more perfect because it makes the frizziness look purposeful! 😄
Half-up Rope Braids
I like how simple yet unique this hairstyle looks! I love rope braids because they are so different from the usual braid. They also were easier for me to do than braids at first. So if you struggle to braid your own hair, you may want to try this hairstyle out! It is the second hairstyle explained at this link.
French Braid Side Bun
This hairstyle looks so soft and beautiful! I love how it gets the hair off the back of your neck which would be perfect for any of you with thick hair on a hot summer day! My hair is really thick, so I understand how hot it can get! 😉 Another thing I like about this hairstyle is how you can really easily dress it up by adding flowers and making your bun more structured or you can dress it down by ending the braid in the messy bun!
Which of these is your favorite hairstyle? Have you all tried any of these hairstyles before?
If you all try any of these hairstyles, I would love to hear how it goes for you all!
Thank you so much for reading! 😊
