Stuff I’m Loving // Summer 2020 // Magaidh Edition

Hello everyone!

My name is Magaidh, and this is my first post on Joyfully You! I am the summer collaborator that Hadassah introduced here. πŸ™‚ Today I’m going to follow the example of a couple of the other Joyfully You girls, and share the products I’m loving so far this summer. I’ll also share a few that I want to try. You ready? Here we go…

1. Besame Cosmetics Carmine Lipstick

Okay– lemme just say, this is seriously my most favourite makeup company in the world! They recreate vintage makeup, and it’s seriously so cool! Each lipstick shade has a date on it– this particular one is an actual shade from 1931. I also have their 1941 shade, Victory Red, and its beautiful too. What I love about Besame, other than the historical aspect, is that everything they make, they make really well. The quality is better than any other makeup brand I’ve ever tried, and they make it to last. Their mascara (which is also awesome) can last up to two years. The Victory Red lipstick I have is almost gone, but I’ve probably had it for six months and I wear it frequently. So yeah. Go check out this awesome company. πŸ˜€

2. The Victoria Magazine

My grandmother gave me one of these beautiful magazines several months ago, and I just love it! It’s like Pinterest on paper, haha! Whenever I need those warm fuzzy feelings and pictures of tea and Scotland– I pull out my Victoria magazine. It’s one of the two only magazines that I have that I won’t tear anything out of for envelope/stationery making, haha! (The other one is a limited edition about J.R.R. Tolkien πŸ˜‰ )

3. Florence by Mills Dreamy Dew Moisterizer

This moisterizer is made by a brand spankin’ new company started by a 16 year old celebrity (Millie Bobby Brown), and it’s one of the few skincare products that I feel like has instant results. And I’m especially picky about moisterizers. So this is a must-have for sure.

5. Side Combs

Okay. So not many people wear this anymore. Except, like, old ladies. Lol! But I’ve recently discovered that they’re a real life saver! (or hair saver, rather πŸ˜‰ ) You can just stick ’em in, and your hair instantly looks “like you tried” and has a decided vintage flair. This is how your wear them:

No, this picture is not me, I don’t know who it is. πŸ˜›

Okay, now for the things I want to try this summer.

1. Anything from the Besame ‘Love, Lucy’ Collection

So my favourite makeup company (that I mentioned earlier in this post) just launched a new collection based on Lucille Ball, and I’m just thrilled! They copied all of the makeup that she used to wear– with the help of her daughter! (I didn’t even know she had a daughter…) Anyway, I’m dying to try something from the collection! Probably either the powder compact or the lipstick.

2. An Outfit from the Miss Patina London clothing company

Thank you Pinterest. Thank you. I found this AWESOME clothing company just scrolling through my Pinterest feed, and now I’m dying to replace my wardrobe with literally everything they sell!! The only thing I don’t like about them is that a lot of their dresses are too short. But style wise– it’s me to a ‘t’.

That’s all for now! πŸ™‚

I hope you enjoyed my first post! Please let me know what you think in the comments below!

What are your favourite products so far this summer? What is your favourite clothing company?

‘Til next time!

Wow! This was so cool to read! I loved all the vintage things! I want someone to create (recreate?) a vintage car/camper company….yeah, I know, that’s not really what you are talking about here…but…oh well, sorry, I am rambling.

Ooh I love all the vintage! ❀ That makeup company looks so neat! I don’t usually wear a lot of eye makeup or lipstick, but I think it would be fun to have one just as a collectible and maybe to try out sometime!

Magaidh, reading this post was dangerous for me – my birthday is coming up fairly soon, and now my wishlist is going to be full of the products you recommended :). I’m especially excited about the Besame makeup – as someone who loves to play around with vintage makeup and styles, I’ll definitely be checking them out soon!
    Thanks so much for sharing!

Yay, Happy Birthday!! You’ll have to let me know if you do decide to try something from them! I actually haven’t been able to try a ton of their products, so I’m always curious to see what people think of them!
