As I looked out the window at the snow falling today (Snow!!! As a reminder, it is April!), I found myself wishing desperately for the warmer times of…well…a few days ago. In fact, recently some of the JY team (and several of our siblings) spent an afternoon enjoying the springy sights at an arboretum in our area. As you cuddle up around your fire (or maybe you live in California and are experiencing balmy temperatures – I am jealous), enjoy a throwback to sunnier days, and remember that this, too, shall pass :).

There were quite a few other photoshoots going on, including several graduation shoots and even a wedding photo…we made sure to avoid photobombing the bride’s special day. You can see her in the top left corner of this picture, though. Hopefully she won’t be able to see us in the top left corner of her pictures.

The flowers were absolutely gorgeous. Julianne and Caroline introduced us to this arboretum, and I highly recommend the experience – especially in the spring! Many of the plants are still growing from tiny shoots, and others are in full bloom. It’s gorgeous.

Alas, there was nary a castle in sight, although this stone stairway looked promising.

There was a lovely Monet bridge in the middle of the arboretum. We decided to take some pictures on it instead of doing a painting.

We discovered that pretending to be a model is way more fun than it ought to be. After we practiced this pose for awhile we realized that there might possibly be other people who wanted to use the bridge so, alas, the world will never see what could have been if we’d had a bit more time.

All in all, we had a lovely afternoon enjoying time with Julianne before she had to go back to college. Stay warm, and don’t forget that spring really is here – maybe tomorrow it will feel more like it!
