I’ll be the first to admit that I have spent more time on YouTube than what was good for me. Just like with many other things, YouTube can be both good and bad. It can be a blessing or a hindrance. You can waste time, or you can gain knowledge.
While there are many other things that play into it being a blessing (time management, self-discipline, …), one of these is good content. Today I’ll be sharing three channels with good content for the Christian teen girl.
A word of caution before we get into it: Please use discernment whenever you watch (or listen to or read) anything. Test everything in the light of the Bible.
Emma has to be one of the sweetest people alive. The way she loves Jesus is evident in how she talks. In short, she is such a ray of sunshine – just listening to her brightens my day. In addition to that, she has so much of the Bible hidden away in her heart that it naturally flows into what she says.
Her videos are about a wide variety of topics; basically, anything that God is teaching her. One of my favorite videos has to be “Finding Approval in Christ Alone”.
Angela at “She Pursues Truth” is very direct about biblical truth. She talks about anything from modesty (see here) to femininity (see here), to why the book of Mormon does not align with the Bible (see here). My favorite video so far by her was one that was prompted by Elisabeth Elliot’s life, titled “Christianity – A Chance to Die?”
As Christians we are called to stand to God’s word and not compromise our beliefs, which is exactly what Angela models. In addition to that, we are called to have an answer when others ask us about our faith. I have found this channel to help me with that as well.
Becca at “Far Away Distance” also doesn’t shy away from biblical truth. What started as a small channel, grew to be one with a lot of influence. Despite her channel growing immensely, she doesn’t try to make “popular” videos.
One of my favorite aspects of Becca’s videos is the way she uses them to challenge believers in their walk with God. “Dear Christians: Some of you will hate this video” is an example of that.
A Final Word
There are many other Christian YouTube channels out there, but these are three examples that have encouraged me and challenged me in my faith.
Tell me in the comments: What channel do you recommend for Christian teen girls?
